• Does everyone else decide what racial box you check off or do you?

  • Why only one box?

  • Why can’t you be in more than one category and a whole new category all at the same time?

Our American society does NOT make it easy to be mixed race.

I mean, it’s really not that complicated!

  •  Will there be confusion?

  •  Will they reject some part of their heritage?

  • Will they feel the need to “choose?”

  • Will they be asked to explain who they are?

Parents of mixed race children often worry about their child’s racial identity.

  •  Will they figure out who they are?

  •  Will they embrace all parts of themself?

  •  Will they resist checking any boxes?

  •  Will they be ok?

The answer to all of the above is YES!

Give your child the confidence to shape their individual mixed race identity and support them as they do it. You cannot hand them their identity, but you can join them on the journey and watch their identity unfold.
